Windows 95/98
Network Control Panel Settings (Step 1)

  1. If your computer is used on a network or if you see anything that says "Network Adapter",
"Ethernet Adapter", "3com Network...", "10/100 Network...", or anything else that you are not sure about, DO NOT PROCEED unless you know what you are doing. If you remove a protocol or a network adapter you could inadvertently remove your network connection.
  2. If you do not have "Dial-Up Adapter" or "TCP/IP" installed you should click on "Cancel" and please call Tech Support.
  3. The only entries needed are for GMS Dial-Up are "Microsoft Family Logon", "Dial-Up Adapter", and "TCP/IP" in this list.
  4. If you have "Client for Microsoft Networks", or "IPX/SPX-compatible Protocol", or "NetBEUI", you should remove them by clicking on them ONCE so they are highlighted, and then clicking on the "Remove" button.
  5. Highlight "TCP/IP" by clicking on it ONCE, then click on "Properties".
  6. Proceed to Step 2.
