From the TCP/IP Control Panel "Connect Via: Ethernet" is not an option despite this Mac having an Ethernet port.

Here is the fix:
* Open Apple
* Click on Control Panels
* Choose Extensions Manager
* Find "Apple E-net" in the list and put an x in the box to the left.
* Restart the computer.
