With Netscape open and in the mail portion (Messenger) do the following:
1) Click on Edit > Message Filters

2) The Message Filters window will open as shown below. Click on the New button.

3) The Filter Rules window will open as shown below. Complete the Filter Rules information as follows:
- Filter Name: Spam
- Select: Match any of the following
- Complete the sentence by selecting the appropriate pull down menus as follows: the subject of the message contains SPAM*
- Keep in mind the following Rules/Filtering Options

Messages identified as spam by our mail server will have the the following prefixes added to the subject line of the message:
- (SPAM*) indicates a medium accuracy spam message
- (SPAM**) indicates a high accuracy message
Since we identify spam at two accuracy levels you have the choice of setting up message rules for each accuracy level, or a single rule that catches all.
When setting up rules or filters the following options can be considered:
- Catch All: filter for SPAM*
- Just Medium Accuracy: filter for (SPAM*)
- Just High Accuracy: filter for (SPAM**)

4) then Move to Folder ... Click on the New Folder button to create a folder named SPAM as shown below. Click OK on the New Folder window.

5) Click OK on the Filter Rules window.
6) The Message Filters window will appear as shown below. Click OK on this window and you are finished.
