Setting Up Your iPhone or iPod Touch

The following instructions are designed to help you setup your Green Mountain Access e-mail on your iPhone or iPod Touch.


Home Screen

Step 1: Tap the "Settings" icon on the main screen.

Step 2: Tap the "Mail, Contacts, Calendar" icon.

Step 3: Tap "Add Account."

Step 4: Tap "Other"


Step 5:
-Tap "Name" and enter your name.
-Tap "Address" and enter your e-mail address.
-Tap "Password" and enter your Green Mountain Access e-mail password.
-Tap "Description" and enter the name of the e-mail account.
-Tap "Save."

Step 6: Tap the "POP" tab.

Step 7: Under Incoming Mail Server
- Tap "Host Name." Enter pop.gmavt.net
-Tap: "Username". Enter enter your Username (this is the name before the @ symbol in your e-mail addess username@gmavt.net) .
-Tap: "Password" Enter your Green Mountain Access e-mail password.


Other

Step 8:
For iPhones: 
Under Outgoing Mail Server
-Tap: AT&T SMTP Server and set to "on"

For the iPod Touch (can also be used on the iPhone): 
-Tap: "Host Name" Enter: auth.gmavt.net
-Tap: "Username" (same as POP UID)
-Tap "Password" Enter SMTP Auth Password (contact GMA Technical Support at 888-321-0815 to have this password setup for you).
-Turn SSL "on"
-Set Outgoing port to 465
-Tap "Save"

 


Final Steps

The unit should then verify/test settings. It's not a bad idea to check the prefs to make sure it is not set to delete mail from server. To do this:

Step 1: Tap "Settings" icon on main screen.
Step 2: Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendar" icon.
Step 3: Tap the account you wish to view.
Step 4: Scroll down and tap "advanced."
Step 5: Make sure "Delete from server" is set to: Never.
