Green Mountain Access DSL
EnterNet 300
Macintosh Installation

DSL accounts with User Names and Passwords to connect will use PPPoE (Point to Point Protocol Over Ethernet). This is the most common type of Green Mountain Access DSL connection.

EnterNet 300 Software

Most computers will require the EnterNet 300 software supplied by Green Mountain Access in order to use PPPoE to connect via DSL. The operating system listed below (Mac OS 10, and Windows XP) will not need the EnterNet 300 software.

Installing EnterNet 300 Software and Setting up your Macintosh

Step 1 - Install the EnterNet 300 PPPoE connection software.

Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive.

Open the CD-ROM drive from your desktop and open the folder "Mac" and click on "Install Enternet 300".

Click on "Continue…" at the bottom.

Read the license agreement and if you agree click "Accept". If you do not agree you will not be able to continue. Click on "Install" at the bottom.

You will be warned that you that you will have to reboot after the install. Click "Continue."

The computer will copy the necessary files to your hard disk. You will then be asked for your username and password. Enter those and click "OK" at the bottom.

When asked to restart your computer, click on "Restart."

Step 2
After your Mac restarts click on the apple in the top left corner. Open the "Control Panels" window and click on "TCP/IP."

In the TCP/IP window where it says "Connect via:" select "PPP". For "Configure:" select "Using PPP Server". If there is a white box at the bottom that says "Name server addr:", type in "65.19.68.30" and on the next line type in "65.19.68.31". For "Search domains:" type in "gmavt.net". Close out of TCP/IP and save changes.

Step 3
Click on the apple in the top left corner. Open the "Control Panel" window and click on "Remote Access" or "PPP". On the new window that pops up, click on the button "Connect" at the bottom. You should now be connected to the Internet.

Step 4
To test your connection, open a web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. If you are using Internet Explorer, click on the pull-down menu "File" and then click "Open". If you are using Netscape Navigator, click on the pull-down menu "File" and then click "Open Page". Type www.greenmountainaccess.net into the box. Click on "OK" or "Open". If the Green Mountain Access home page is now displayed in your browser, you have successfully configured your computer for DSL.
